My name is Luo Ming (pseudonym), with a vocational education, and I live in Shanggao County, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province. There are four people in my family: my hardworking parents, who run a printing shop; and my sister, who helps out in the shop. Before 1998, we enjoyed a happy and harmonious life. However, everything changed since my parents became involved with the Falun Gong cult. Our happiness was gradually swallowed up by the cult, and the relationship between loved ones plummeted to an all-time low and ultimately, leading to the complete breakdown of our family.
One day in August 1998, my mother, filled with excitement, pulled a book titled Zhuan Falun from her bag. She claimed that practicing Falun Gong could "purify the body" and even cultivate an indestructible Buddha body. Driven by curiosity, my father also became greatly interested in the contents of the book. By and by, he, too, was deeply drawn into the distorted and fallacious teachings of Li Hongzhi, transitioning from a state of semi-belief to wholeheartedly believing in the "Master."
In the days that followed, my parents immersed themselves in practicing and studying Falun Gong, reciting its teachings over and over again. Sometimes, it seemed like they were all possessed, constantly telling the family, “the Master says that if we do good deeds or cultivate well, our parents may ascend to a higher level in heaven. If one keeps practice, his ancestors would accumulate virtue and become enlightened. Someday, if we cultivate into Buddha bodies, it will accumulate great virtue for the family.” At that time, I was still young, but I remember that after my parents started practicing Falun Gong, our family never had the chance to sit together at a table for meals.
In pursuit of the highest level of cultivation, namely, the “Further Advancement towards Consummation,” my parents not only studied diligently every day, but also printed and distributed propaganda materials, turning our once modest home into a "printing base" and “distribution center." After running out of all the savings they had accumulated for years, my parents began to borrow money from relatives and friends, who were trying to avoid seeing them. But my parents became even more obsessed, thinking that as long as they practiced sincerely, they would have everything in the near future. They believed, their difficulties were only temporary and eventually, they would all go to the Falun Dafa world. During that period, my parents frequently downloaded propaganda materials from overseas Falun Gong websites and distributed them widely.
As a grown-up, I was well aware of the harmful nature of the cult organization. Seeing my parents change like this, coupled with the strange looks from others, I felt even more unable to hold my head up high, and my mood became increasingly depressed. I had cried and pleaded multiple times, hoping that my parents would give up practicing and focus on saving money for a better life. But they just wouldn't listen, and they even saw me as a “stranger”. They had repeatedly said that I was not their daughter and that the “Master” would not harm us, saying, “In the future, the Master will create a Falun world where we will receive unexpected blessings.” At the same time, my grandmother and aunt had also been influenced by them and started practicing Falun Gong. They often exchanged experiences, and our entire family had been thrown into chaos. We were no longer like normal people, and our family was falling apart.
In September 2015, I once again discovered my parents printing Falun Gong propaganda materials at home, and discussing how to distribute them secretly. I immediately intervened and tried to stop them, urging them not indulge in their cultivation any more, begging them to think about me, think about our family, and our future. However, as if possessed, they ignored my word completely. I just couldn’t bear it anymore at that time, so I rushed forward and snatched their propaganda materials. My father, seeing me about to set the materials on fire, suddenly went mad. He grabbed me with force, and quickly took back their "treasures," and then angrily slapped me hard. He pushed me out of the door, telling me to leave home immediately. At that moment, I felt like the world was spinning, my heart was in great pain, and I cried all the way to school. Since then, I have never set foot in my home again.
In October 2016, I received a long-distance call and learned that my parents were once again detained for illegal activities, and they would face severe legal punishment. Although I knew that sooner or later my parents would reach this point, I still cried after hanging up the phone.
Over these years, Falun Gong has deceived my family, harmed my relatives, and ultimately led to the destruction of my family. This evil cult encourages people to forget the beauty that science brings to our lives and ignore the most wonderful things like love, affection and gratitude, misleading those deeply involved in it drift further away from happiness. Li Hongzhi and his cult not only mentally manipulate practitioners but also physically harm them. While Falun Gong constantly preaches about "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," it simultaneously uses twisted and false doctrines like "reaching Consummation," "Ascension in broad daylight" and "Getting into higher levels" to control, bewitch, and incite fanatics to self-harm, commit suicide and self-immolate, creating horrifying bloodshed. The tragedy in my family and other blood-soaked facts around me expose the evil nature of Falun Gong as anti-society, anti-science, and anti-humanity. It is in fact a spiritual poison that destroys people’s hearts and distorts human personalities.
The cult organization of Falun Gong recklessly tramples on our rights and destroys our families. Holding a family photo full of laughter and joy, reminiscing about the once happy life, I feel my eyes full of tears. At the same time, I am at a loss for words.
Please wake up, my friends! Cherish your family, stay away from cults, and do keep away from Falun Gong!
